last of the Doctor Who nails... for now! DALEK EXTERMINATE!!

Hello all! I have my last Doctor Who nail art... for now at least! There will be more but I need a nail art break before I go out of my mind and start hearing the sound of the drums...

My most favorite nemesis of the Doctor's (other than The Master of course) are Daleks! They are these gross gooey octopus looking aliens that exist in this hard metal robot shell with laser guns and lenses and rivets all over. (click here for the wiki page!)

You usually can tell a Dalek's voice immediately, very robotic and they are often killing people in their way that won't help them at all..... and what do they do?!

EXTERMINATE! haha

Here is my Dalek on my index finger done with a background of China Glaze Blue Sparrow neon, the Dalek itself is Essence Date With The Night and the rivets are the same polish but with 1 drop China Glaze Riveting (ironic) to every 2 Essence, and the details of the lasers and antennae are done with LA Colours Black Velvet and China Glaze Cheers To You.

Since the Dalek's lasers are a green/blue I decided on a greenish color, my friend Kim at Ides of Polish was awesome enough to give her input into which polish I should try for the laser and background, she went with the China Glaze Blue Sparrow Neon for the background and China Glaze Zombie Zest for the laser middle bit. I went with a 3 way gradient of the Blue Sparrow and Zombie Zest so that it would look like the green lasers from the Dalek are shooting across the blue background to my little finger where it will have a shock of the Zombie Zest and an outline of a person being exterminated HA how exciting! oh my..

enjoy....

have a great day and congrats to the recent giveaway winner Rachel A!!!!

I started with a base coat of OPI Skull & Glossbones and then used the same polish + Essence colour & go Date With The Night  to make my first ever water marble effect :)))))))))))))) here is the water marble by itself....

Not terrible for my first water marble attempt. I used this tutorial as a quick idea of how to do the actual water marbling but I of course used my own swirl design to get the marble granite cray cray angel look. ha

Now here is the actual face and clawed hand i went off of for the index finger...

and here are the nails with a painted weeping angel wing on the middle finger as well...

More Doctor Who nail art! Are you my mummy?!

Fantastic day everyone! So far I have gotten a lot done andddd still time to post :D I LOVE DAYS LIKE TODAY! Plus, got to watch new episode of my fave show, White Collar, always a good time!!!

I've got another Doctor Who inspired nail art mani to show off today! I wanted to do nail art based on my favorite Doctor Who episode, The Doctor Dances (part 2 from The Empty Child)! Click here if you'd like to be taken to the wiki page for this specific episode if you'd like an idea what it is about!

I wanted to show Jamie/The empty child's gas mask face and the wonderful little Nanogenes causing all the fuss!!!

Jamie/Empty child with his mummy Nancy and the wonderful little Nanogenes all around!

I started with ONE coat of China Glaze Stone Cold as my base color(matte finish charcoal/black with silvery pewter shimmer all up in it).... this is an awesome awesome awesome polish if you do not have it, I suggest getting it (it is also from the Hunger Games Capitol Colours collection)! Once dry I painted a swirl of China Glaze Electrify (yellowish and bright orange glitter in a clear base), to be the Nanogenes, on my little finger, then I used China Glaze Cheers To You (foil-finish metallic silver) for the details of the lenses and mouth filter of the gas mask, and the other detail of the top of the gas mask and part of the hair at the tip I used OPI Skull & Glossbones (glossy grey/white).

ARE YOU MY MUMMY?!

ok so for some reason when i post a blog from my phone the images blur... someone just let me know this so  when I get on the computer tonight I will make sure to put up the actual clear pictuers! GAHHH way to go blogger app!

I'm thinking Weeping Angels and Daleks next?! YES YES YES!!!

EPIC MOMMY MOMENT! baby toes!

VERY VERY VERY EXCITING DAY!!!!

I got to paint my baby Violet's nails for the VERY FIRST time :D  I could cry this is awesome!
I dug in her stash for the perfect 4 free polish for her little toes, ended up with a couple Essence Colour & Go bottles and decided on a nice pale peachy coral, What Do You Think? and it even dried amazingly. Seriously I only needed one coat for each of her toes since they are so small, the brush was almost too big for her toenails!!! That one coat dried within at least 2 minutes, I REALLY REALLY love that since she is VERY mobile and now that she is walking she digs her toes into the carpet to balance herself.... oh the trail of polish she could leave behind haha!

We started with some snackies to distract her...

Then I just got very very very brave and started to paint one nail at a time haha... pictures are a bit blurry because she wouldn't stay still for the camera and the iphone haha... because she's A BABY! :D

YAY for Violet! Now she has OFFICIALLY started using polish from her very own stash!

Little O/IT'S A BOY needle marble! Congrats Jacki/Adventures In Acetone!!!

I'm going to interrupt my current Doctor Who nail art broadcasting (sayyys what!?) to share a little CONGRATULATIONS post....

My wonderful wonderful friend Jacki (Adventures In Acetone) and her wonderful wonderful family have welcomed their newest member just a few days ago... baby boy Owen, or as I like to call him Little O! I don't usually like babies, even though I have one (hehe) but Little O is such a handsome little sweetheart (already like his super cool big sister Hailey)!

So, how could I not join in the celebration our one group is having in honor of Little O... themed baby boy/Owen nails/art! I decided on a nice lapiz blue and a creamy pastel yellow needle marble!

I started off with 2 VERY THICK coats of Essie Lapiz of Luxury with BIG THICK drops of Essence Mellow Yellow to marble together. I didn't really go off of any blog tutorial which in hindsight I probably should have, it would have made this 1st needle marbling experience MUCH MUCH easier! I am sure I could have gotten much more fun designs and I wanted to do a nice water slide decal for little O as an accent nail but I really had no idea what to do! So I left my marbling as is and topped it off with Nubar Diamont top coat.

Sorry I don't have one of those fancy macro lenses XD

Not TERRIBLE for a 1st needle marbling attempt but I cannot wait to get better, what a challenge!

Check out my friends celebrating and welcoming Little O with their baby boy/owen themed nails!

Galaxy nails + a police box bigger on the inside?! [my Doctor Who nail art series]

Hello people of my page :) I've missed you :)   Wait til you see my newly short and rounded nails... I HATE THEM! Can NOT wait until they grow long again and I can square these babies the way they belong! hah

 Ahem, soooooooooo....
In my extreme excitement over the new season of Doctor Who coming up in about a month, I figured I would do a big 'ol nail art series showcasing my favorite episodes/characters/etc. I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!

So I figured I best start from the beginning, actually... my kid's FAVORITE part of the show (yes my little Violet is a Whovian just like her mama and I AM SO DAMN PROUD!)... The opening credits... time... space... tardis... you know what I'm sayin'?!

I hopped on over to my friend Jacki's blog Adventures In Acetone, and got clicky on her galaxy nails tutorial (you can view it here!), figured what better background for a tardis than the universe/galaxies/planets you know... stuff the doctor loves to save :D

I used a base coat of OPI Natural Nail base coat followed by my base color, Deborah Lippman Lady Sings The Blues. I figure this is a great base, it's dark blue and has blue and pale silvery glitter bits that could be what oh I dunno planets? stars? use that imagination, baby!
While that was still a bit tacky but not too much... I used Jacki's tutorial for the sponging of Hard Candy Beetle and a mixture of OPI Skull & Glossbones (1 drop to every 3 drops shooting stars) and China Glaze Shooting Stars. Lastly I took China Glaze Blue Sparrow (neon) and made light swirls all up over my galaxified (new word?!) nails!

Then my favorite part... the Tardis... or... Sexy, if you will   ;P
I used a mixture of SinfulColors Midnight Blue, China Glaze Blue Sparrow, and L.A. Colours Sea Siren for a sweet sweet 'tardis blue'! I did the windows and print on the police box with OPI Alpine Snow and a VERY fine nail art brush!
Finished up with a good thick coat of Ozotic Elytra 528 !!!!!! holy moly!
wanna see?!?!
ALLONS-Y ALONSO!

Keep posted for more Doctor Who posts in my Doctor Who nail art series!!!!!!!!!
