The Nail Junkie Spring Matte Pastel polish line Part 2!!! Daffodil

Finally I am back to show off another of the matte pastels from The Nail Junkie's Spring polish set!

No secret if you are a regular reader of the blog... I LOVE LOVE LOVE YELLOW! Any shade... any finish (yes EVEN holographic! haha) I LOVE YELLOW! So I was VERY excited when I saw there was a "Daffodil" buttery shimmery pastel yellow :)

The only bad part... I GOT A DEFECTIVE BRUSH! Why does this always happen to me?! I'm like the defective nail polish brush magnet! Gotta love having spare empty bottles, I happened to have a Funky Fingers that was empty so I just stole it's cap and it fit Daffodil's bottle like a charm. I even popped the little gem off the top and glued it to the replacement lid heh.

With that defective brush I really couldn't get this polish to go on without turning into a sticky gooey mess, and when the brush broke I was sooooo happy to see it wasn't the formula of the polish but just the brush being a jerk! Once I got a proper brush this went on like... well... butter! It didn't dry super matte like the Violet did, this one was more close to the "satin/matte" finish you would get from Hard Candy Matte-ly In Love matte top coat. If you want that classic dusty matte look (that I LOVE), there is that awesome Matte Topper she includes in the Spring set :) I went with 3 coats of Daffodil and for only the ring and little fingers have a coat of matte topper.

handy dandy matte topper!!!!!!!!!! this is my new favorite :)

Last of the shades in the Spring set from The Nail Junkie is Rose matte, this shade is a soft shimmery rose/pink with a blue/violet flash to it... what a complex but still very simple shade. This is my second favorite of the set, yes yes... over the yellow! The formula on this one was the 2nd easiest of the 3 to work with and applied closest to the Violet matte. I went with 2 coats and again only the ring and little fingers have a coat of matte topper.

My camera did not like the blue/violet flash and turned it WHITE! aghhh! You can slightly see it at the bottom of the bottle near my watermark. yeesh. next time its daylight for aleta's shimmers! haha

gorgeous!

Love love love the satin finish of these last two polishes in the set. Of course my favorite is the Violet and these sets are alllllllllready completely sold out HOWEVER I do know that Aleta over at The Nail Junkie is at work on her Summer line and will, I'm sure, have some knockout polish next time too! Thanks Aleta! Love it!

Take care,

  1. I'm so glad you like them!!! And I'm glad you gave me some real things to work on for the next line. Yellow was always my "hates me" polish. I learned quickly that not all colors "mattify" the same. The darker the color the more matte they appear. So you can imagine how hard yellow was. I'm glad you enjoyed the polishes overall and were able to fix the bottle yourself. Next time tell me!!!! So I can send you a new cap and brush!!! LOL! I had a bunch of them left over. Thanks for the wonderful review Cas!!!
