Christmas Mani! .... the day after lol

So sorry I didn't get to post my "Ugly Christmas Sweater" mani yesterday since it was my Christmas day mani! Blogger was being a GRINCH!!!!!!

Here it is! It was designed after an awesomely hideous Christmas sweater a teacher of mine in high school wore! I loved it, it was so awful it was cute! It was almost grey/tan with white embroidered lines across the belly and a bunch of red poofs all over and a little black silhoutte of a Scottish Terrier lol I used OPI - Skull & Glossbones, Julep - Christine, Color Club Art Club - white, and LA Colours - Black Velvet.

Merry Christmas and or whichever winter holiday you celebrate!!!! xoxoxoxo

Midnight Blue w/ flakie franken(thanks Rhonni!) and Julep silver flakie glitter..!!!! (PIC HEAVY)

Well tomorrow is Christmas Eve here in our household and it really doesn't feel like the holidays are here, they came up so fast!

My favorite of the 2011 winter SinfulColors polishes is Midnight Blue. It is a gorgeous dark royal blue shimmer... it is BEAUTIFUL!

The polish was a little thick but I have that problem with SinfulColors, sometimes its just fine and 90% of the time its either too thick or too runny. I am NOT complaining for them each being only $1.99 (and often times on sale for $1.00 off at Walgreens!!!) I only needed 2 coats for perfect coverage!

I was SO excited my husband got my a camera for Christmas and I got to start using it early! Enjoy the MUCH better pictures I now have haha...

The same day I decided to wear this GORGEOUS BLUE I also received some great nail mail! My friend Rhonni makes some awesome flakie (my favorite!) frankens! She duped the Deborah Lippmann Lady Gaga Edge of Glory flakie polish and titled hers, Brink of Ecstacy! She included it as a surprise in a swap and I am the first person to own it!!! THANK YOU AGAIN RHONNI!

I figured this blue was dark enough to be a base for the flakie which has bright green, blue and peach and pink colored flakes!

I ALSO received my December Julep Maven box! (I received Julep 'facial for hands' scrub, nail varnish Catherine and Gayle (one i REALLY wanted!), and some silver flakie nail glitter! I had to try the nail glitter (I think I am giving it to my sister, turns out nail glitter is so NOT my thing haha) which you sprinkle over wet nails. I tried to do a dradle design on the finger but when I put the top coat over top (INM Out The Door top coat) it pushed the glitter flakes around :( and then on the rest of the nails I went with a typical french tip style.

With top coat 1 coat.

without top coat

with top coat 2 coats.

with top coat 1 coat.

LOVE THIS!

Comparing; China Glaze - Shooting Stars and OPI - Servin' Up Sparkle!!!

Holidays are almost here! We've got all of our lights up, our tree, ornaments, but what we really want is SNOW! What do we get right now?! A thunderstorm in December in Eastern Pennsylvania... agh! Luckily I love thunderstorms and can still dream of snow!

Was looking at my glitters today and immediately thought of snow or frost with these... China Glaze - Shooting Stars and OPI - Servin' Up Sparkle! (Maybe over Revlon - Royal, OPI - Merry Midnight, China Glaze - Cheers To You, Dr.'s REMEDY - Passion Purple... etc etc)

(L-R) China Glaze - Shooting Stars, OPI - Servin' Up Sparkle

China Glaze - Shooting Stars is a holographic layering glitter. It is packed with fine holographic glitter and medium holographic hex glitter...

OPI - Servin' Up Sparkle is a holographic layering glitter (also). It has super small holographic hex glitter and medium holographic hex glitter.

These two polish are definitely NOT dupes but are close enough if you want a similar look I suppose... here is the two swatched. Index & Middle fingers are China Glaze - Shooting Stars, and Ring & Little fingers are OPI - Servin' Up Sparkle...

You can totally see the difference in these two! The packed fine glitter in the Shooting Stars really stands out more than the very small hex glitter bits in the Servin' Up Sparkle!

Hope this helps! Happy Holidays!

PS. I Just received my first Julep Maven box! Cannot wait to show it off! LOVELY!

Sinful Colors - Last Chance !!! Another festive green!

I have another of the holiday colors from SinfulColors polish!

SinfulColors - Last Chance, is a dark forest green... it is almost the non-shimmery cream version of SinfulColors - San Francisco... almost. It took about 2 coats to get even and applies just fine!

This would look so pretty with some uber thin bar glitter!

Check out how awesome this new holographic black Color Club Art Club nail art brush/bottle is!!! I bought 2 :)

On the nail it's definitely not as gritty or rough as I thought since its got pretty rough scattered holo bits in it.

Holiday Presents mani !!!

Sooooo was excited to this simple mani idea... and it turned out just as beautiful as I had hoped! I really wanted to do holiday presents design this season and I couldn't really decide on the colors until I received some SinfulColors polish to review... then it clicked!

I went with a very classic simple shimmery present!

I started out with SinfulColors - Out Of This World (I love SinfulColors! They are a great drugstore polish deal $1.99, I always get mine at Walgreens. This bottle and the glitter nail art brush were provided for review.), it is a shimmery pearl white with a very slight blue shimmer to it also. It's a pretty thick polish but still sheer, I ended up with 3 coats but had to apply each coat after the first was nearly dry)

For the packaging ribbon I used Dr.'s REMEDY - REVIVE Ruby Red. This was my favorite of the shimmers from their Jolly & Joy collection (check out the review). The bottle I received had a brush that was extremely small, a defect in marketing (that they offered to replace which was so nice but I liked the brush for nail art so I declined heh), so it was PERFECT in width for the ribbons and really any detailed nail art! I love when problems turn out to be positives!

And last but not least, the new SinfulColors nail are brush bottle for a little simple bow on top! The one I used for the bow is Flower Girl, a solid gold glitter. The brush on these are about 2x thicker than my Color Club Art Club Nail Art brush bottles but worked just as well if not the same (weird how that happens ha).

I TOTALLY LOVE HOW THIS TURNED OUT! Very classic and crisp looking package. FANCY! haha

Holly designs!!! FA LA LA LA LA! LA LA LA LA!

Well I DEFINITELY not feeling 100% better still on day 5 of a horrendous migraine and numbness in my body but my blood pressure and heart rate are down and I am relaxed and ready to start posting again! I hope everyone is as excited as I am for the holidays coming up! I never got into them until now, with Violet here she has brought the holiday spirit back in me and I am spoiling her already! Today we got her picture taken with Santa! I had to do a special mani for the occasion :)

The base color is OPI - Alpine Snow which my bottle is junky and I needed to thin it BIG TIME so it was a little bit streaky... but it is my FAVORITE base white so I deal haha. The holly leaves are Sally Hansen - HD Resolution and the holly berries are OPI - Red.

I keep singing "Deck the halls with boughs of HOLLY... FA LA LA LA LA! LA LA LA LA!!!!!!!!" every time I look at my nails and Violet thinks mommy's voice is angelic (for now, HAHA) so I get cute baby giggles and its totaaallly worth it!

I actually sat on and SNAPPED (yes i sat on and snapped) my poor nail art brush so without thinking of using it for this before throwing it away... well... I threw it away! Ahhh so I actually used a sewing needle with thread on the top (yes Navy tattoo style) to do the designs hehe.

And here it is in all it's cuteness... Violet's christmas picture with Santa :) (I am smiling like a fool right now!)

Happy Holidays everyone I am finally beginning to find joy in this time of year and it is so much fun!

Oh Christmas Tree!!! ... Zoya - Shawn w/ KleanColor - Starry Meteor

I recently participated in an epic Secret Nail Polish Santa! My awesome nail polish friend Brie (thank you again!!!) spoiled me with some gorgeous polish (Zoya Shawn and Pippa! Petites Zodiac! OPI Grape Set Match and Servin' Up Sparkle! oh and she included the CUTEST fuzzy boots for my daughter Violet!)

I REALLY wanted to use my new Zoya - Shawn... it is the most gorgeous forest green cream <3 Totally perfect match for a Christmas tree color! I also wanted to add some cute glitter or art and I came across my bottle of KleanColor - Starry Meteor...

So..... this mani totally made me think of a Christmas tree with lights and tinsel (ahhh yes, tinsel... the decoration that keeps on giving.... use it once, you'll find it alllll year round!)

Shawn applies like butter and only needed 2 coats! I also used 2 coats of Starry Meteor.

So I have one of my most favorite polishes for you today! It also is the last of 3 polish bottles in my CURRENT GIVEAWAY!
I really feel this is an important polish in the giveaway since it fits well with the donations for The American Heart Association.

OPI - Bastille My Heart, a GORGEOUS blood red in natural light and burgundy in artificial light, is a shimmer that wishes it was a jelly! It's shimmer is almost of a VIOLET color, how perfect!
This is the bottle from the giveaway.

China Glaze - Ruby Pumps !!!

Here is the 2nd polish from my current giveaway, China Glaze - Ruby Pumps! The bottle I am including in the prize is a mini China Glaze.

Ruby Pumps is a super red micro-glitter that is pretty sheer so I did need about 2-3 coats for decent coverage. The swatches are from my personal bottle of Ruby Pumps, not the giveaway prize bottle. Also one good thing about this red is that it doesn't stain! yey!

The giveaway bottle shown here.
