OPI - Bling Dynasty !!! aaaand a little non-3 free love :)

So I am really making an effort to try out some of my polish that I thought I would never want to wear (I keep them mostly for frankens or nail art). I came across well... my only gold (other than OPI-Gold Shatter)!

OPI - Bling Dynasty is more of a yellow gold than say like a metal gold. How do I explain other than that?! oh yeah with pictures! haha   Bling Dynasty applied super smooth and easy and It can be a little sheer so I used a solid 3 coats.

It is actually a VERY pretty yellow/gold, I think I will wear it again and not just use it for frankens :)

So I don't like to use nail polish that isn't 3 free, at least. I have been dying to wear my OPI - Movin' Out! So I know everyone likes to put it over purple but I like how Movin' Out has the purple to gold duochrome layering effect.... so I wondered what it would look like over a gold instead of a purple!

Well it turned out gorgeous!
(this is 3 coats)
gold - purple

gold to pink/purple   (this is only 2 coats)

I like it best like this... 2 coats of Movin' Out over top of 3 coats of Bling Dynasty.

Thanksgiving Mani!

Hello everyone, sorry for my absence again... my father passed away Monday and have been dealing with that and then the holiday came up (I got to cook Thanksgiving dinner by myself for the first time this year! It turned out great!). I hope everyone had a great holiday and took advantage of the awesome deals on Black Friday and will be on Cyber Monday!

I wanted to share my simple holiday, goodbye fall, hello winter mani! I got to use my favorite layering polish, Nubar 2010, which is ALWAYS exciting! FLAKIES <3

I used my favorite fall color, 2 coats of Sinful Colors - Mercury Rising, and 2 coats of Nubar 2010 once that dried. Then I used Sinful Colors - Pull Over and Essence - Wake Up! to paint a color changed fall leaf, and Violet's First Pumpkin ( one of my Halloween frankens) and Hard Candy - Matte-ly In Love matte top coat for little pumpkins.

China Glaze - Atlantis w/ charla and a "dupe" pic heavy

Soooo did not want to take off the gorgeous shade that is Charla! I didn't feel nail art or glitter (obviously) would do, but then I came upon one of my FAVORITE polishes! (well... 2, but I'll get to that). China Glaze - Atlantis! This is a gorgeous ocean green and has silver and holo small round/hex glitter. I LOVE IT!
It applies average and is pretty sheer since it's a jelly-ish base. It looks awesome over Charla!

blurred it to show off the holo bits! ooohhh ahhhh

I also wanted to show Atlantis all by itself... for these I used 3 coats. I prefer Atlantis this way... alone and beautiful and sparkly and greeny and awesome... y... haha

Figured while I was swatching Atlantis I would swatch it's "dupe", Sinful Colors - Nail Junkie (how perfect is that name?!?!?! <3 ).... I say "dupe" because it is supposedly so. I found out... not so much. Nail Junkie is almost the same ocean green jelly like base but is more on the blue side with iridescent medium hex and small iridescent glitters. This polish was a PAIN to apply it is so thick so I had to thin it out but... sinful colors and the opi lacquer thinner dont seem to like each other too much... at least for me they didnt.

You can see here how Atlantis (left) is much more of a green and Nail Junkie (right) is more of a blue.

Here are the swatches of Nail Junkie...

So, USA lacquerheads, are you all ready for Turkey Day/Thanksgiving Day tomorrow?! I have a mani to match the holiday (OF COURSE!) and I can't wait to show you all tomorrow!

PS. I have a giveaway planned for 100 followers appreciation! For those of you who read my blog regularly... thank you so much :) I love sharing polish with all of you! You all are awesome! Pin It

ZOYA - Charla !!! soooo pretty!

Well we are prepping here for some Turkey Day/Thanksgiving Day goodies here at our house! I am still torn on which mani to do for the holiday, do I want a turkey design, a football design, or what?! Maybe I will throw up a poll on the Mani-Logues facebook page!?

Was going through all of my untrieds and realized I have never used ZOYA - Charla! This blue/green oceanic shimmery foil is absolutely gorgeous. The blue/green really reminds me of my honeymoon in the Bahamas, the water looked just like this and you could see right to the bottom... amazing! I only needed 2-3 coats of Charla it coats and applies very well, I've never had problems with the ZOYAs that finish like this one.

Sinful Colors - San Francisco!

Holy green, Sinful Colors! San Francisco is a gem, emerald to be exact! I love love love love greens! Sinful Colors - San Francisco is a gorgeous deep emerald green with green glitter bits.

The formula isn't great but it isn't terrible, simply; it's a cheaper brand. The shade is also pretty light and somewhat sheer so I ended up with about 3 some nails 4 coats. I left my little finger with only 2 coats to show you why...

NOTE: These pictures are slightly darker.. SLIGHTLY.. than in reality.
The little finger is SLIGHTLY lighter. That is with 2 coats

OPI base coat & Nubar Diamont top coat

Well Turkey Day/Thanksgiving is here next week already in the US... which means the winter holidays are creeping up on us all! I've been really thinking of colors that aren't the typical red and green or dark blues for my nails... Lacquerheads, what are you favorite holiday colors? Pin It

Dr.'s REMEDY Jolly & Joy holiday shades 2011!

I am back! With new shorter nails! I was starting to poke Violet with my long nails and had to trim them down, I miss them so much! I have a wonderful holiday collection for you all, this one realllllly made me happy!

The Dr.'s REMEDY holiday 2011 Jolly & Joy collection includes: REVIVE Ruby Red, PASSION Purple, ESSENTIAL Emerald, SERENE Silver Glitter, and RESOLUTION Red Glitter. They are all shimmers with the exception of the two glitters, SERENE and RESOLUTION, of course.

I love these glitters, I thought they were foils at first but they are just packed full of fine glitters. These swatches are with ONE coat! I love it! They also were not hard to remove either, which is awesome!

SERENE Silver Glitter, my favorite of this collection, is a super packed with fine silver glitter and flecks of red and NOT GREEN but light blue glitter! I totally thought they were green at first. Dr.'s REMEDY describes it as A seasonal sizzler like no other; shine, chic, totally unique in the metallic scene. Honestly, I can't say I have a glitter like this... other than maybe the foil, Designer... de Better, from the OPI Muppets collection. I totally have this on my toes right now, I wanted to keep wearing it!

The other glitter, RESOLUTION Red Glitter, is totally NOT a red glitter! It is definitely PINK! I still like it though... it's a super packed fine (like SERENE) pink glitter, same color I'd say as OPI Teenage Dream (beautiful pink). Dr.'s REMEDY describes it as A red-meets-copper spin that's sequin-look-alike with high-shine and sparkle. It's pink, but yeah it DEFINITELY shines and sparkles!

Overall the two glitters were GREAT in application... seriously only one coat but I tend to apply glitters a little thick, but even with a thin coats... two coats max. These pictures are with no topcoat.

Of the three shimmers... check out this red!
REVIVE Ruby Red, is a gorgeous vampy red. I insanely LOVE when a polish is light in the center and the sides look dark, I think that is gorgeous, and this polish does that! Dr.'s REMEDY describes it as A shimmer infused, Wizard of Oz-inspired shade of crimson. Such a rich beautiful deep dark shimmery red... ahhh drooling over here! The only problem I had with this one was the brush... my brush was the size of a toothpick! I had to use my nail art brush but it was worth it. I do want to mention that Dr.'s REMEDY is aware of the brush issue and is working on getting that fixed with the manufacturer. I actually think it will be great for doing the kids nails and art!

See what I mean?! Bright bold middle and dark on the sides! This is totally on my list of polishes that remind me of Snow White, this looks like the apple! Oh or maybe the Twilight book cover apple? Gorgeous!

These pictures are with no top coat. This is 2-3 coats of polish.

PASSION Purple, my other favorite of the shimmers, is a gorgeous.. well, boysenberry purple! Dr.'s REMEDY calls it a bombshell-boysenberry with subtle silver meshed throughout. Spot on! This is a gorgeous purple with silver shimmer. I'm actually still wearing this one I really like it and it finishes very shiny.
The formula for this one is great to work with also.

These pictures are with no top coat. Three coats of polish.

ESSENTIAL Emerald, the last shimmer in the collection, is actually very pretty on the nail! I was deceived by the bottle it didn't look very shimmery and just a plain color. It reminds me of this cute little lizard the kids I babysat as a teenager had, I think it was an Anole?! Anyway, Dr.'s REMEDY describes it, A take on the classic tree-and-plant-inspired gem of a shade, with delicate glimmer and unparalleled amounts of glamour. It is for sure an emerald green, a very light shimmery one. One thing I didn't like is that the formula is kind of wonky it either dried too tacky or too fast and I had to add another layer of polish for touch-up.

I also wanted to remind everyone that tomorrow is the last day for the special HOLIDAY code offer at Dr.'s REMEDY...

Dr.'s REMEDY is also on FB:  Facebook.com/RemedyNails

To my readers... I am so so so so sorry I have been away! My poor baby girl is hurting something fierce from teething!
(what's that you say? Pictures or it didn't happen?)
Poor baby and her little white puffy gums!!! She has been captive of my complete attention the past few days since there have been fevers and sleepless nights for the whole house! I am back now and have been polishing away and found some great untrieds to show off!
